CONSISTENCY
con·sist·en·cy
steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, formThe winners in any fitness program are those who show this trait. It should be applied to every aspect of a fitness program.
Nutrition: Those who make a clean and nutrient rich eating plan a part of their daily life will see the most success. Yoyo and crash dieting may help you lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time but it will be harder to keep it off long term.
Training: Incorporating a regular training program with a combination of resistance training, cardiovascular training, and stretching will help fight off those unwanted pounds and aid in getting a healthy, fit body. It should be a commitment to yourself and your health to be in the gym consistently every week following your program.
Sleep: This is an often overlooked but very important component of a fitness program. Sleep is needed to restore the muscles that we are breaking down when lifting weights in the gym. Our ultimate goal is to build lean muscle mass to help boost metabolism and burn off calories. Without proper and consistent sleep patterns, it makes it harder for our bodies to achieve this.
Food Journaling: In Pink Iron, I find that the client who have the most success with our programs are the ones who keep a consistent and honest food journal. We work them hard in the gym but we have to be able to see what they're up to when their out in their world to understand the results they are seeing. Keeping a journal helps clients to stay honest with themselves and see just how consistent they really are... right there in black and white.
Apply the principle of consistency to these areas in your fitness program and I can assure you that you will see long lasting success...
